Geeksharka
Having trouble setting up the SendMail function on FMP 5 (OS9) with Entourage v.X. Can it be done from one OS to another (or do I need FMP5.5), where's the Internet Config on OSX, and if I need an Applescript, does anyone know what it is. Many thanks
Steven H. Blackwell
Entourage not supported with FMP 5.0vx. It is supported with FMP 5.5; however, in 5.0v3 you may be able to AppleScript the sending of emails or use the OpenURL command with [mailto:[email protected]] as a workaround. Geeksharka
Thanks OAM. I will try it in FMP5.5 on OS X. Another simple question... where's the best place to start with Applescripting? I have years of experience FMP scripting, so I'm not looking for a 'Dummies' intro, but something with teeth. Or better yet, a directory of Scripts specifically related to FMP that I can rework. Simply filling in the SendMail options doesn't do anything, so I need to know that extra step to make it work with another app, to trigger an email correctly. Finding it has been tedious. Any good starting points out there? Many thanks, Sharka

The best AppleScript book **without exception** is Danny Goodman's AppleScript Handbook. Check his website www.dannyg.com for where it might be available. >Or better yet, a directory of Scripts specifically related to FMP that I >can rework. I hope one day to have the chance to publish several hundred of these---assuming that is that FMP continues to support AppleScript. Meanwhile take a look at: http://www.fmp-power.com/techresource.htm and http://www.fmp-power.com/it_dev.htm click on Popwer AppleScript link.
