eps being scaled down 3% when printing

Hello,

I'm running a OS 9.2.1, FMP 5.5v1, and printing to an HP 5000. I am bringing ads from an art department into FileMaker, storing them as a reference only, in order to print proof sheets for the client. The ads are created in QXPress and saved as an eps (using an extension that embeds the font info). The picture field takes up most of a page and is more than large enough to hold the ads. The field is formatted to crop the image to fit the frame (so there shouldn't be any change of size) and the alignment is centered. Page setup is letter at 100%. I played with some of the laser driver options under imaging options and resolution options.

My 2 problems are:

the important issue is that the images print from FMP at 97%, why the change?

also, gradations print blochy

In both cases if I import the eps into QXPress it prints correctly. The gradation I can attribute to the screening abilities of XPress. I don't understand the scaling.

Anybody successful in troubleshooting these problems?

Thanks for your feedback.

Steve
