label printing 2x4

Featured Replies

Long time since I've been on board, been busy building dbases smile.gif" border="0

Now I've come across a problem I can't seem to find an answer to.

I've got a sheet of paper (Size A4) with 8 labels on, two rows of four. They're sticker labels.

Do I need to script on which label the printer should print ( left top row/right top row, left second top row etc etc)

And if the answer of this question is "yes" how would this script look?

Maybe I'm too close to see an solution, but I can't think of any way to solve this.

Any help is appriciated!

TIA

Maybe I missing something, but it sounds like something the standard options for a label report would handle. It asks how many colums and to go all the way down the column or go laft to right.

FMP starts on the top left label. Depending on the option chosen in the Layout Setup, the next label is either across then down, or down then across.

If you want to start on, say, the left label on the second row it becomes difficult: you'll need to put blank records in the found set before the record to be printed to "pad out" the first labels on the layout.

Alternatively if you just want to print one label at a time, create single-page form layouts with the text printing exactly where the desired label would be. You'll need a 8 layouts for a 2x4 label sheet.
