Printing to PDF

Is there any way to print to a pdf file automatically.

By that I mean without having to specify a file name.

I need to print a report from a sscript that executes at night, and print the result from the script to a pdf file. If i am not there to specify the filename I want the report to print to, the script will hang all night.
