First, thanks to everyone who have replied to my posts. Your reponses have been a big help to my very slow learning of filemaker.

My latest road block:

I'm trying to print a report with about 5 different fields. In the layout mode, the fields are all alligned horizonatally in the same row. In browse mode, there are numerous rows, one for each record that I have. What I'm trying to do is print the report, but eliminate all the empty space between each row. I would also like to have dividers between each field, such as a line. For certain fields, the text can range from one to many lines, which is what's causing me problems.

So far, I tried to create standard size fields with lines between each, but when the fields reduce when printing the lines do not. Basically, leaving the empty space between rows. I've also tried placing the fields right next to each other and putting borders around them. However, because each field reduces a different amount the bottom and side borders for each is also different, which doesn't make for a good presentation. I'm not sure what else to try. Is there anything else I can try?

Thanks in advance for the help.
