Dear All,

Just registered here for my first day with FM !

I have seen other posts related to the topic but never really solve my target which is like a set of Drop Down Menu "Russian Dolls" like.

I have modelled my database with several tables :

Country : CountryID CountryName

SubRegion : CountryID SubRegionID SubregionName

SubRegion1 : SubRegionID subregion1ID Subregion1Name

SubRegion2 : SubRegion1ID subregion2ID Subregion2Name

I have created separate tables to avoid data redundance for obvious reason.

Relations created based on shared fields (CountryID between table Country and SubRegion, SubRegion ID between SubRegion and SubRegion1, etc).

The goal is to have a place where I can input data in SubRegion2 after having chosen the country in a drop down menu which filters the value which will appear in the second DDmenu (SubRegion), which will then filters the value appearing in the 3rd DDMenu (SubRegion1).

Example :

I want to input "Vougeot" in SubRegion2 as a Sub area of "Côte de Nuit" (Subregion1) itself being a subarea from "Burgundy" (Subregion), which appears when selecting "France" in a DDmenu based on Country.

The project would even imply a further drill down sub area !

Yeah, this is about win, I won't avoid the "cliché" on frenchies ;-) but this project is mainly to introduce more overseas wines in here !

I really like to solve and understand this as the project would also include same process for other fields like "vines", "wines colors"...

This looks challenging but heard that FMForum has the most astute users ! As I am a total beginner on FM, solution through tables and relations will probably fit better in my brain that script based that I never seen before...

HELP !

Kind regards

Mike
