Does anyone know of a way to have the local and remote access companion settings in individual files turned on all of the time? crazy.gif" border="0 Some of my databases have them on all the time and others reset to being off when I close them. shocked.gif" border="0 If they all reset to off, I could accept that I can't do it, but since some of them are on, I come to the conclusion that there must be a way to keep them on. It would make some of the external applications that I use to process FMP data much easier to deal with.

I found my own answer. If anyone else has run into this problem when using 5.0+ files with fmserver:

Either when the file is first created and shared for multiple users the local or remote data access companions should be enabled, or if it needs done after the fact, you have to Close the file on the server and open it through the local file system to change these settings in File/Sharing. Once this is done and the file is opened on the server again, the local or remote access data companions stay enabled.
