I'm getting this error message reported from an FMSA 10 server once an hour on the dot.

FileMaker Server 10.0.2.206 on SERVER-PC reported the following event:

Sun Feb 05 13:32:38 GMT 2012 FMS ERROR wpe1

Some problems were detected in the WPE COMPONENT: COMPONENT IS NOT RESPONDING.

The problem started when an Windows Update forced a restart on the server (running Windows Vista Business) about five days ago. This was security Update for Windows Vista (KB2585542)

FMSA did not restart correctly after the update, and I had to restart the server again before it would relaunch.

The Admin console shows a red dot on the Web Publishing Engine status, but Client and IWP connections continue to work satisfactorily. Stopping and starting the web publishing engine does not appear to clear the problem.

Any suggestions welcomed

1. The update may have closed a port. Check the web publishing engine ports to be sure they are open.

2. Never, ever, allow auto updates on a FMS machine.
