How do you mean "the value would correspond to a picture"

If you mean that the field would display a picture, you set up a container field and either paste your picture or a file reference to the picture into it.

If you want to display a specific picture based on the value of another field, then create a related file with a number field to contain a picture ID number, and a container field to hold the picture. For each record in that file you store all the unique pictures, and a unique ID number for each.

In your main file, create a picture ID field and then in the "define relationships" dialog, select the picture file as the related file, and select the picture ID field in each file as the link.

In your main file, display the container field from the related picture file, and the picture ID from the current file. When you enter a valid picture ID number into the ID field, the corresponding picture will display.

I would like to create a field, the value in that field would correspond to a picture.

Any suggestions on the best way to go about this?

It is for network management and provides a visual where the user is located on a specific hub.

thanks in advance!
