Newbies Andy O'Brien Posted June 28, 2000 Newbies Share Posted June 28, 2000 I have a company spreadsheet as well as seperate ID photos that I would like to import into a basic dB I have setup. The spreadsheet basically has the following information: Last Name, First Name, Employee Number, and Employment Status. There are ID photos which have filenames corresponding to their Employee Number. So for Example my entry would be: O'Brien, Andy, 2839, Current There's a file called 2839.JPG which is my ID photo. Is there anyway to quickly copy the ID photo into the record with the corresponding employee number, and if so how? Any help appreciated. Newbies gavin Posted July 7, 2000 Newbies Share Posted July 7, 2000 I have used Visual Basic to extend FileMaker's scripting ability into other Windows programs for larger jobs. FileMaker seems very stable with this approach and it is fairly easy to write a VB sequence that is like a keystroke recorder, with a loop to move through the records. If you haven't solved your problem already and you have VB, let me know and I will forward an example... gavin [email protected]
