Plebuch Posted June 4, 2001 Posted June 4, 2001 Help! I can get FMP 5.5 to startup at Login, but I don't seem to be able to automatically open up a database. Under Mac OS, you added an alias of the document to the startup file, and it appears that OS X is the same; however, I can't get my database to automatically start up. I added FMP to the startup menu and it works fine, but my file goes nowhere. It works perfectly well if I manually start it up. Any suggestions?
Plebuch Posted June 5, 2001 Author Posted June 5, 2001 In OS X, there is a LOGIN menu where you click "add" to put in a start-up application or file. It works differently from OS 8.x or 9.x and that is the problem. Thanks for replying. Alice
Keith Shelton Posted June 5, 2001 Posted June 5, 2001 Just tried it with FMP4 Mac 8.6 by placing one DB in Start Up Items. It worked fine, i.e. it launched FMP and opened the file. I hadn't tried this before as I open a Start Up file manually which in turn opens a list of other files but, yes it worked OK. Are you only putting an alias of file and not FMP also as the latter might obstruct the former - just a thought!
