Filemaker virtualization using NComputing hardware & software

Does anyone have any experiences or advice that they would like to share with using NComputing products as thin Filemaker Pro clients?

TIA,

John

Only that it is not guaranteed to work. If you're looking to use FileMaker Pro with terminal services/citrix, it will work. With other software your mileage may vary. Also note that you will need a Volume License for the amount of thin clients you plan on having, as a single retail copy will not allow multiple instances to be opened.

Citrix: http://help.filemake...etail/a_id/6831

______

And out of my own curiosity, why would you use NComputing over terminal services or citrix? They would have too offer some sort of benefit over the others, right?

I have a client who decided to switch to NComputing on the advice of his IT company. I wasn't a part of the decision making process. NComputing tech support claim that their product will work with Filemaker, so I am hoping it works. My clients logic is that NComputing hardware and software package is less expensive and easier to maintain and install than Citrix is. Citrix has partnered with NComputing on some projects, which I see as a positive sign that it will/ might work, I will update the post in a couple of weeks after the new network is installed.

Interesting situation. I hope it works out for you! Looking forward to any further update you have on the topic.
