Unable to open as Multi User becasue of Network Error (-2) and (-10).. Waht gives?

Featured Replies

Tying to connect a couple of computers i a small office.

When I try to set a file to multiuser, I get the error saying that it can not be set to multiuser becasue of a network problem, and shows error code (-10) and sometimes (-2).

I checked the FN Help file for these error codes, but they weren't there.

What do I do? I've got to lauch this project for them by Friday.

Which Network protocol are you using?

  • Author

I was tring TCP/IP.

I do not yet have the actual network connected, but I wanted to connect 4 PC to hub via a 10mb ETHERNET,a nd then an internet conection to the hub with Wingate software installed.

Any sugestions?

It should work There are two things I can think of. The first thing I can think of is you may be recieving the error because your network isn't in place. The second is a problem I am having, I can share a database across the network on all my NT4.0 machines however I cannot access this file with Win2000 if it is open somewhere other than the Win2k machine. I have not found a fix for this yet but I am Looking!
