June 15, 201213 yr Newbies Hey folks, We have developed a solution called Teacher's Companion and we feel it looks and works great on FileMaker Go for the iPad. We love the way you can save and print PDFs, attach photos from the Photo Library, and even attach signatures. A small concern at this early stage is if only FileMaker Go could open specialised filetypes (stored in container fields) with iPad apps that can utilise them. For example, we have a Templates section where a user can store files. Say a user wanted to store Guitar Pro files (.gp5, .gpx, etc) using FileMaker Pro, now when the database is opened in FM GO it should open these files in Guitar Pro on iPad right?? The problem is on FileMaker Go, when you try to open the file, it opens it in a browser window (Safari on iOS), which incidentally throws a 'Failed to open' error. Dropbox, Downloader and various file storage apps on the iPad does exactly what it should, by giving you choices to Open In... the app that supports it. Hopefully this functionality could be included in an future update. Regards, Damian
