Getting information from a "sister" table - related through a parent table

Hi,

I am new to FM and i have been building a database for my building company - to take care of a lot of the office and document control. Essentially what i have is a bunch of different tables that are children of a parent table called "Projects". A project is a single occurrence of, say a new home build.

I have run into a problem where i am trying to access information from one of the child tables ("DescriptionOfWorks") and place that information into its sister table "QuoteRequests".

I have attempted join tables and all soughs of tweaks to see if i can work it out myself but i just can't seem to figure it out.

Could someone please take a look at the file attached and point me in he right direction.

I am afraid that i have come completely down the wrong path now and will need to go back 20 steps. (i hope not).

Thanks in advance to any one who could help me out.

Cheers.

Myles.

Hello Myles,and welcome ;-)

Your solution prompts for a password. Could you please upload an unprotected copy of the database?

Hi,

Can anyone give me some advice on where to go with this problem?

I am attempting to get information from the Description of Works table "DOW" and place it into the "Quote Requests" table. But id like to only be able to access the Descriptions of Works relevant to the same project.

Appreciate your help.

Myles.
