Active Field Text Input

Hi, I have a script and script trigger set up that seem to work fine with filemaker pro 12 but does not work so well with filemaker go 12.02. Basically I set a up an easy way to do a find. I have two fields one labeled search field and the other labeled search value, and script triggers on object modify that triggers a "search" script that then goes back to the last active field so that you can continue typing until you find your desired result. I am having an issue with the last part of the script with filemaker go for ipad, what I would like to happen is that a user could just continue typing, but what happens is that although the field is active the user has to "touch" the field in order to continue typing.... Is there a way around this? or do I have to come up with a different search technique?
