I am having a problem accessing the admin tool on my servers.

Server Version: 11.0.3.309

OS: Windows Server 2003 R2, Standard edition, Service Pack 2

Java: both version 6 update 24 and version 6 update 33 are installed and update 33 is the active version.

I get the same error whether trying to run the admin tool from a client machine or on the server itself:

Error: Unsigned application requesting unrestricted access to system

Unsigned resource:

http ://[redacted]:16000/admin-client-lib/admin-console-client.jar

JNLPException[category: Security Error : Exception: null : LaunchDesc:

The database server itself seems to be operational, all databses are visible and no one is encountering any errors opening the files, we just cannot access the admin tool.

Anyone come across this before and have any idea what is going on?

Well it doesn't answer why it wasn't working, but I got the admin tool up and running again by deleting the java application cache in the java control panel.

Weird.

I had this exact same error yesterday. Thanks for posting your solution.

This is what worked for me:

From (Windows) Control Panel>Java, the General tab has a Temporary Internet Files section, with the button "Settings...", then "Delete Files..."

I also re-ran the Start Admin Console from :16000.
