Hi All,

i am working on a database for asset management and am currently working on an efficient way of setting locations for stored assets

right now i have created a table with box serial number field and fields which specify location data eg room, shelf etc and am trying to show this data in a portal within the asset detail layout when the user selects the box from a drop down on the asset page.

so far i have had very little success and i have a sneaking suspicion it has something to do with global fields but im not sure how to approach the problem?

any help would be much appreciated
