Drag & Drop Sorting Does Not Allow Scrolling

I'm looking to implement drag and drop sorting on a portal but running into a problem. On a large portal where you scroll through the records, you cannot scroll while dragging an item. I'm thinking if there was a way to do this, Excelisys would have included it in their example. Anyone experience this problem before?
