Kriski
I would love to be able to send emails via Filemaker (11), but we use GoDaddy as our webmail host. Does anyone know if it will even work with GoDaddy before I spend a lot of time trying to set it up? Thanks!
Cabinetman
I believe so ..... some of it might depend ( ... on if you're using the 'Website Tonight (?) or whatever) but maybe not. You should be able to get the info you need from the GoDaddy site though .... Example I got from GoDaddy : POP pop.secureserver.net IMAP imap.secureserver.net SMTP smtpout.secureserver.net I would guess you could plug these in with the username and password. David Anders
You have several choices. 1] A mail plugin would be the most useful solution. There are several. Google "email plugin filemaker" https://www.google.com/search?q=email+plugin+filemaker Useful Post http://buzz.beezwax.net/2012/11/02/sending-html-email-from-filemaker 2] An email account setup in an Email Client. Apparently you do not have this. Setup your web hosting email accounts in an Email Client - IMAP is preferred. OR get a free Gmail account for this use by everyone - Gmail can turn on POP and | or IMAP access. Some Email Clients are nice, some require okays for each sending email (Outlook) - though there are ways around that. Attachments are limited to one per email. 3] An email account with SMTP server access (user name and password) - Filemaker can send through the SMTP server. Some servers limit the amount of email sent per day or month and you can be blacklisted as a Spammer for high email counts .Attachments are limited to one per email. 4] A connection through an API for an online email marketing service - MailChimp or MadMimi for ex.
