hi there.

ok here is one... i have tried to do this with no success..

i have a contact list with people from around the world. what i want to do is create a calculation for each field that will show the contents and the number of records for each content. so if i have a state field with the followong states... PA, OH, NY. i would create a calculation field for each one..

PACalculation (and it would show)

PA 250 records

i would do the same for each field content.

this more for a complete record screen so i can show to a client. they would be able to see all that is available.

thanx for the help..

It might be best to create a report in column format with a grouping by state and leaving the detail out so that you see only the grouping and the group summary.

well can i still have the amount of records per item? that is what i really need to do. the client wants to be able to have some type of output of all the fields the have and their contents.

Is there a related file somewhere? If not, consider creating a self-join and use the Count(relationship::remotekey) calculation to count how many related ecords exist.

Ok this really doesn't really want to work. if there is anyone out there that would like to do this for me please let me know and what your prices are. it seems easy but i can't get it. i get a wall at every turn.

what i need is a report that will show every fields contents(well the ones i want) sorted by country. the countries are Canada and the USA. so that means i would like to know how many in canada( lets say 100 records), any provinces (ie.. ontario 50 records. BC 50 records. the same would go for the USA.

then once done i can export it to a txt file or something.

so if you have any ideas, that a beginner can do or you have done some thing like this please let me know.

thanx
