Popup List that when it closes runs a script

Featured Replies

There are plugins available that allow you to do this. If you want to avoid plugins, I have an example up on my website that illustrates how to do what you're after with just FileMaker using a looping script. File is Dropdown.zip (in FM5.0 format) at:

Thx TOM. I knew I had to use a loop but I didnt think about pausing it.

My db is gonna look so cool right now!

The title says it all but I have a field that is a popup list with a list of dbs and after I choose one I want the program to jump to that one, so how can I make the db detect that I closed the popup so it can run an script???

Tom, script works well. I also added a bit to it so that if there are more than one field and during the pause loop the user clicks on a filed outside of the one designated the script cancels. That way you are not caught in the loop.

Also, I noticed that the screen flickers during the pause loop. Do you know why? Not a big problem on the mac. But on slower WinBoxes the drop down list disappears and the field turns into a regular text field. I have tried Freeze Window and to no avail. Other than that. Thanks for the example!
