web-based, user-managed login credentials: best practices?

Hello,

I would appreciate some guidance . . .

It is tempting to think that one could implement a user-managed login authentication system (eg - create new user, reset password / forgotten password, with per user privilege settings) strictly in FM and publish with IWP.

A simple scenario would be a school that might have 'teacher' credentials where each teacher has a set of 'students'.

The alternative would be to use CWP and use a PHP authentication system.

Please suggest which IWP /CWP path is most appropriate.

Thank you!

(sorry for taking so long to reply - thank you dansmith65.)

I was hoping to support a mix of CWP and FMPro clients.  It feels like it would be reasonable to put all of the authentication using FM and then making sure that user credentials conveyed from PHP are secure.
