How is Quicktime import useful?

Ok, I guess it's useful to those who distribute standalone FMP apps, but I'm still frustrated. I want to embed a (very small) QT movie in one layout, and then host on FMServer. Unfortunately, it seems that embedding a Quicktime movie requires that the movie be present on the client machine!

That doesn't do me much good. Is there really no way around this?
