Can I turn off "SNAP" feature in grid?

I am designing a layout in centimeters, and have the gridlines showing to assist placing my lines & boxes. The trouble is that the field will "snap" to the gridlines, which causes some of my objects to not line up exactly how I need them to. Is there a way to turn off the "snap" and just float the fields to where I need them?

in filemaker 5 you go to the "Arrange" Menu and uncheck "Object Grid"

in filemaker 4 it is all "Auto Grid" or you can just press CTRL-Y if you are on a PC.
