PRSquare Posted November 1, 2001 Posted November 1, 2001 When I first started using my databases in Windows I hated the window in a window configuration. Now that I have the 5.5 suite running I am accessing my databases on my Mac in OS X.1. I have 4 empty databases on my desktop that run scripts to call a list of related databases from the FileMaker Server. The problem is that when the files open they default to full screen. Selecting the previous window size/grow button results in a haphazrd size and placement of the windows. What I thought was a pain in windows was actually a good thing. In windows, once I set the size of the application window (which I confess I tried in vain to get rid of) I simply fit each database exactly in that window and got on with my work. The 50 or so different layouts, in the 17 diferent files I use have all been designed so the layouts users see fit the exact same window size. Is there a way to set the window size for either the file or the application?
Vaughan Posted November 2, 2001 Posted November 2, 2001 On each layout place a rectangle (no fill, no border) that outlines your desired minimum window size. Create a startup script with the Toggle Window (Zoom) step in it to force the window to shrink to size. Actually it might be the Unzoom option, I'm not sure. Have a fiddle.
