Relationships issue

Basically I have a small test db setup with three tables.

The person.

The report comments

the persons record including report comments.

I need to get the comment 2 field to autofill based on what is entered on form test1234 in comment 1.

I cant seem to get it to do this, im sure its simple but.......

I need to save these comments so that we can go back and reference them at any time in the next 10 years. Each year the table containing the comments will changes hence me saving them against the persons record.

Any tips on making this field autofill against comments1 would be greatly appreciated.

I don't understand your setup. Why not use

Person --< Reports --< Comments

and a portal to enter the comments, including a date (from which you can derive the year). If necessary, add the personID of the report, though that is inherent via the reportID. Also, this way you're not limited to two comment fields (or need to do re-adjustment to facilitate more comments).

… and that is because …? Anyway, as it stands, you're only saving the comments 'against' a year, since there is neither a personID nor a reportID field in the other table.

You sure about that?  :)
