I know it's possible for a field to change colour if certain criteria is met, but (this sounds mad) is there anyway to make it flash??? shocked.gif" border="0shocked.gif" border="0

No (thank God).

Well, I suppose there could be a way to do it. Make the field transparent. Make a global container field (or two) in the database to hold graphics to be used for the background coulour of the field. Make a calcuation field that displays one of the colours based on the value of a "bgcolour" field and place it behind the field to flash. Set up a looping script that changes this "bgcolour" field's value every second or so. It'll flash.
