mikhail vimov Posted July 19, 2000 Posted July 19, 2000 I would like to know about a layout I saw on FileMakerPro database. This person has the multiples databases. There is not a switchboard to connect them. Instead there is tabs at the bottom of the screen like tab manila folders. If I press on the tab it takes me to the different database. Is this difficult to do? I have not seen ways to do this in my database. Perhaps my version is too old? (I have the 4,1). Thank you for anyone who can respond. ------------------ Mikhail Petrovich Vimov
birdman Posted July 19, 2000 Posted July 19, 2000 Mikhail, What you are referring to is not very difficult and is not specific to version 5. It is done through a combination of standard layouts, buttons and scripts. As you described it, each file must have the same layout/look. Under each tab is a button that triggers a script which, among other things, takes you to the new file. There are examples of this technique available on the Internet, check out http://www.databasepros.com and the resources offered there. Cheers.
ZuperZZ Posted July 19, 2000 Posted July 19, 2000 Visit this site, there is a good explanation of how to implement "Tabs". http://www.afilemakeraffliction.com/list/technique/afa1119.html I also have a little Demo File (27k)but I can
mikhail vimov Posted July 20, 2000 Author Posted July 20, 2000 Thank you very much. I have gone to the sites. It is very clear explanation. I think I can do this. ------------------ Mikhail Petrovich Vimov
