I ask for help.

First of thanks for FM StartinPoint.

What should I do if I have an article (pump) and it has a SKU. However, each pump has its own serial number.

How do I create a serial number management.

I know there is a field called "Serial Number".

But the pumps are not unique items, they have only an SKU and a to identify a Serial Number

There are a number of questions that you need to think about here:

 

Are these pumps being sold or rented?

 

If they are being rented... then you could use the "Assets" module.  

 

If the pumps are being sold, then they should probably loaded into the Products database in FMSP.    We are working on some upgrades that will make picking products easier.

 

You can duplicate the each product...and then change the Serial Number of the new record.

 

Or... in a more advanced fashion... create new serial database... that ties into the product record... to support the multiple items...with unique serials.

 

This would take some effort to wire up.
