Is there a way to tell whether the database has EAR?

Originally I had encrypted the database, using the developer tools; however, things seemed slow on an already slow server, so I attempted to de-encrypt it.

Things were never quite successful at that stage, according to the log. It would receive an "error". I'm wondering, now, as to whether it was ever properly encrypted. Originally it would ask me for an encryption password, but it no longer does that.

Is there a way to tell?
