tab into portal row - lookup doesn't work

when i tab into a portal row the lookup defined for a field in the file doesn't work. however if i click into the portal row the lookup works fine.

any ideas?

If you tab in a portal row, the new record is not indexed yet. Lookups and relations online works fine when the record is indexed.

When you exit the record or the portal row, FileMaker place the record the index.
