Beginner Help - Value List problem

I am a new developer and have a small problem I can't figure out and hope someone can help. I created a text field that uses a pop-up value list for its values and want it to use one of the choices from the value list as a default response. Any help would be appreciated.

Specify that value in the "Data" box of the "Auto-Enter" tab of the field options.
