ODBC Link From FMP 5.5 to MS Accsss

I'm using FMP5.5 windows ver and I need to keep a link from my FMP data file to MS Access 97. When I create the ODBC link, Access says I have to many index's. As I need the indexes and have deleted as many as I could, I thought "Why not export all the data to a FMP 5.5 file and ODBC link to it?" So I created a DSN file for the new exported FMP file and proceded with my external link from Access. Here is the problem, After I select the new file source, Access wants me to select a Link Table and there are none! When I created the link to my original file it showed all the data files to choose from. What am I doing wrong and how can I fix it?
