What is the best method for updating large multi-table single file

I am trying to learn the best way to update a single file database being hosted with Filemaker 14 Server.  The updates would be needed for several clients.  I am hoping there is a really easy way to do this with the latest Filemaker version.  Is a script required to export the data for each table (probably 40 of them)?   If this is the case, is there a recommended export type?  Thank you for any help as I can not seem to find any current discussions on this in the forum.
