Introducing my.fmcloud.fm: one place to manage your FileMaker hosting

We have recently introduced my.fmcloud.fm, a new customer portal designed to give fmcloud.fm customers greater visibility and control over their hosting environment.

Rather than replacing FileMaker Server Admin Console, my.fmcloud.fm brings together the administrative tasks that surround your servers: maintenance, optional components, storage monitoring, billing, users and documentation.

Manage all your clients’ servers from one account

The portal is particularly useful for FileMaker consultants and developers who manage hosting for several customers.

Instead of using separate accounts or navigating between different environments, consultants can access and administer the servers of all their clients from one place, provided that the appropriate permissions have been granted.

Schedule FileMaker Server updates

From my.fmcloud.fm, you can schedule an update of your FileMaker Server.

This allows you to choose when the update should take place, making it easier to coordinate maintenance with your users and customers while letting the fmcloud.fm platform handle the deployment.

Thanks to our Docker-based architecture, upgrades take only a few seconds—essentially just the time required to close the files. If you encounter any issues with the new version, you can downgrade just as easily, considerably reducing the risks associated with keeping your server up to date.

Install additional components

The portal also lets you install optional components on your server, including:

• OttoFMS

• Devin

• PHP

These components can be deployed directly from the interface, without having to request a manual intervention from the fmcloud.fm team.

Monitor storage usage

You can monitor the storage space used by each server and identify environments that may be approaching their allocated capacity.

This provides a clearer view of storage growth and helps you take action before available space becomes an operational issue.

Change the Admin Console password

The password for the FileMaker Server Admin Console can be changed directly from my.fmcloud.fm.

This is useful when transferring responsibility for a server, changing administrators or simply applying your organization’s password-management policies.

Manage users and permissions

A customer account does not have to be managed by a single person. You can invite additional users and assign them one of several roles:

• Administrators

• Server managers

• Administrative contacts

This makes it possible to give technical teams access to server-management functions while giving accounting or administrative staff access to the information relevant to their responsibilities.

It is also what enables consultants to manage servers belonging to several customers without sharing credentials or mixing the customers’ accounts.

Access invoices and billing information

The portal provides access to your fmcloud.fm invoices and lets you update your billing information.

Customers can therefore retrieve previous invoices and keep company or invoicing details up to date without having to contact support for routine administrative changes.

Find the relevant documentation

The fmcloud.fm documentation is also accessible from the portal, providing a central starting point for information about your hosting environment and the available services.

my.fmcloud.fm is intended to become the central interface for managing your relationship with fmcloud.fm.

Our existing server console, currently available at console.fmcloud.fm, provides additional FileMaker-specific operations, including managing and restoring backups, restarting a specific component of the server, and much more. In the near future, it will be integrated into my.fmcloud.fm, bringing customer administration and day-to-day server management together in a single portal.
