  1. Hi all I have a system that involves one central set of dbs and 3 external sites. The sets of dbs in the remote sites have the dbs in the same names. The central system regularly updates them and retrieves data off them etc by initially opening one file from that remote set on the corresponding IP address and from that file it opens all related and relevant dbs within that site to start the process. Until recently we had a vpn using vpn gateway routers but they were old and slow and we decided to replace them with a software based vpn setup using hamachi. vpn works ok. The problem is that filemaker on the central computer that connects to the remote sites keeps thinking they're all local servers and continues to open the files interchangeably between the servers when connecting to one of the sites. This is happening of course because the filenames are the same. In the past, this didn't happen. when you opened one of the databases in a remote site, it would automatically open the related dbs in that site and it wouldn't confuse the servers unless the same db names exist on the local network. Now it's seeing all sites as being local and often defaults to opening one of the other 'local' db's before trying to open the db's in that remote server. Is there a way to make FM NOT open the 'local' db's without changing the programming to specify IP address for every database? This would cause a great deal of additional work for me if I have to do that. I appreciate your help on this! Many thanks
