  1. Unfortunately - unless I've misunderstood - you've pretty much described manually adding the server to hosts. There are multiple files made available to different users - so the startup open file isn't an option. I can ask the developer about the menu file, and then use the fmp://servername/databasename1 shortcut syntax. I'm not wildly optimistic, but nothing ventured and all!
  2. All.. Disclaimer - I'm a desktop IT Support person. I'm not a Filemaker admin. Or even a user of Filemaker. We have a Filemaker server with multiple databases for different purposes. Our Staff are using Windows with Filemaker 19 installed. Currently, the people who look after FM have been advising Staff to add the server to Hosts via File, Open, Hosts. They can then see a list of all of the databases on that server, and open whichever one they need. I know we can create a desktop shortcut using fmp://servername/databasename to open a specific database - but that only opens a specific database. I don't want that. I want a shortcut which will open up the LIST of databases on the server in the same way that they see when manually adding it to Hosts. Otherwise, I need to create scripts with fmp://servername/databasename1, fmp://servername/databasename2, fmp://servername/databasename3 etc. Which is fairly counter productive. I know I can pockle the registry with HKCU\Software\Filemaker so that the "hosts" part is populated - but I'd ideally prefer to use an inbuilt method. I'm sure there's some easy method of doing this, but it's eluding me so far
