If you are using FM PRO as a standalone. It is in the edit drop down menu and will not load up. If you decide to network later you can change it. ------------------
  2. I am currently running FMPro5 Server Mac. on OS9 (Server). 3 Local Terminals (Mac OS 8.6) 1 Local Terminal (W98. We Have 2 Clients which connect to D.Bases Via Remote access(Mac). My Problem is that From home I am running W98 and running FMPro 5(W98) and I cannot log on to the host. I am using PCMaclan 7.2 and I can see shared files on Mac server but when I try to access databases I get nothing. I am able to log on to server using dial-up with server IP Address set at 192.168.0.1 (SNM)255.255.255.0.. All terminals are set sequentially with the exception of Mac Client used to check e-mail, which is connecting via Apple talk. When I attemt to access host from home (W98) I show not files.

  6. We are running a calandar (Just text)to keep track of reservations. Since we are running crossplatform (Mac Server -PC Terminal) we use colors to define the following. Unsecured= (Bold Condended) Paid= (Green/Bold/Condensed) Secured- (Red/Bold/Condensed) I need to know if I can record an action and save it as a script etc. so that it will simplify the process. Any suggestions.
  7. I am not sure why she uses a launcher but is moot really. 1st-I will assume the server is running OS9 or OSX. What I did when we upgraded, was Moved all D.Bases to a holding directory/Folder. I opened a local copy of the all the db's using FMP5 (Client). Moved newly converted d.b's to the main folder of FMPRO Server. Create a start-up script placed it in the start up folder. Start up client (Without server running)Open each all db's and edit your preferences to allow both TCP/IP and Apple talk. Close etc. Go to TCP/IP control panel use administrate mode. Set connection to Ethernet. Enter these settings IP Address= 192.168.0.1 (Server) 192.168.0.2-255 (Seq Each Client) Subnet Mask=255.255.255.0 (All) Disregard all the rest of the settings. Restart Server All db's should open at start up (Make sure TCP/IP is loading) Filemaker uses it own networking protocol so appletalk is moot, but since your accessing via remote it will be req. to make initial connection via remote to server. On remote adjust settings so IP Address is unique. and click host, specify server and enter server's ip address 192.168.0.1. Program should look for host. If all files have a fP or a FP5 extention you should be able to see all databases. It is a lot to absorb I know but in the long run TCP/IP is the key. Feel free to email me if confused. Since FM Pro

We recently upgraded from fmpro 4 and some databases still do not have the .FP5 extention (Could this be the problem. Any suggestions
