We host 60 databases on FM server. There are about 40 users in one location (in Ireland.) We are now setting up another plant in Livermore, CA. We want the users there to have the same Filemaker access to the same databases. The problem is that Internet access bandwidth is very limited in Livermore. 144k is the limit now. Over this connection, native filemaker reports are too slow. We could use HTML but it is limited to 3 step scripts. We use a lot of sophisticated scripts.
We have the VPN, firewalls etc in place.
If we could have a mirrored server at each plant with very frequent incremental synchronisation it seems that it might work well.
Is FM Server capable? What are the issues?
