  1. We are running 4 PCs at present. We anticipate that this will become 20. In Ireland we are running a mixture of Macs and PCs We are running Terminal Services as a temporary measure at present. It works but there are printing problems. We will investigate Timbuktu and Citrix. We are prepared to make the appropriate investment in software and hardware to make this work properly and you comments about long term costs are understood.
  2. We have 60 databases, 40 users, Max transactions 3,500. This only happens when a clinet which is also on the server machine runs a very intense aln long script which processes a lot of data. While this is running there is no apparent degradation of service to other users.
  3. We host 60 databases on FM server. There are about 40 users in one location (in Ireland.) We are now setting up another plant in Livermore, CA. We want the users there to have the same Filemaker access to the same databases. The problem is that Internet access bandwidth is very limited in Livermore. 144k is the limit now. Over this connection, native filemaker reports are too slow. We could use HTML but it is limited to 3 step scripts. We use a lot of sophisticated scripts. We have the VPN, firewalls etc in place. If we could have a mirrored server at each plant with very frequent incremental synchronisation it seems that it might work well. Is FM Server capable? What are the issues?
