Can anyone tell me if there is a way to make a script, that runs whenever someone enters a specific layout?

I am trying to created a field that records the "date modified" and the "modified by" fields in a record. Heres the trick, the field must only update when one of a few select fields are modified, NOT when ANY field on the record is modified. If anyone has any ideas on how i might accomplish this i would really appriciate it. thanks in advance Aaron

I have two databases both are related and contain info on one subject but must remain separate. Is there any way that anyone knows to create a new record in both simualtaneously and relate the two? preferably i would like to do this using the create new record option in the menu because this will be a shared database and i do not want to confuse people. if this is not possible is there any way to disallow the use of that command for this database only? any help is appriciated thanks aaron
