  2. The Mac OS is 9.x. And yes, the other computer logs on by using the "Hosts" button. Let me see if I can clarify all this. The database is hosted by one Mcc running Mac OS 9.2. The other Mac (OS 9.1) attempts to log on, if the HDD is named anything other than "Cath's HD" the screen says login is not allowed from that computer. If anyone needs clarification, please ask... Rob
  3. I was at a client's home today and they are using a FM 5.0x database system. It appears if the user changes the name of their hard drive, the log-in states that it is not allowed from that computer. First of all; How is this done? Can this be done for the "Computer Owner's" Name in the File sharing Control Panel Secondly; This appears to be dangerous as many people like to rename their HDDs. Any work arounds? Cheers, Rob
