  1. Thanks for this one. The screen shot and info helps clarify it for me. I'll get cracking and see how it goes.
  2. Hope someone can help on this (basic) query. I have a timesheet function for 10 employees. Each employee creates multiple entries throughout the day as single records These entries have start_time and finish_time based on a 7.5 hour working day. I then have a trailing grand summary showing total time. I also have a calculation field in the grand summary which shows overtime hours based on the user doing more than 7.5 hours per day (total_time_overall - Time ( 7 ; 30 ; 0 )) . This however only works for a single user on a single day. I would like to be able to view time entry records for a given employee over a range of dates (eg 1/2/05...1/3/05) and see how much overtime has been worked. I realise I can maybe do this using sub summaries, but these will only show up when I preview or print and I would like to see them in browse mode as a grand summary. Is there a better way for me to configure the overtime calculation or do I need to be looking at a different solution? Thanks in advance.
  3. Great stuff - it worked a treat. Many thanks.
  4. This is probably very basic, but please help as it's driving me mad. I have setup a database with a auot entry (creation) Date field. I have formatted the date field to day/month/year. I have also set my system (date/time) parameters (MAC OSX) to the same format. However, when I go to do a find in the Date field, I get the error message saying that I must enter the data as month/day/year. Is there any possible way to change the stored date parameters to day/month/year so that my search entry will be accepted? Thanks in advance.
  5. Thanks Jeff, The option-8 is fine and I think I've sorted out a work around with webdings. I'll decline your offer of your special typeface as I have to use a standard font as I'm developing for others. Thanks again, Andy
  6. I am creating a field that requires morse code input, but i can't seem to find the right characters to use. I'm quite new to pc's (been on the macs too long) and i am looking for a good sized bullet point and a thick dash. I don't want to use special font sets in case my end users don't have these. Does anyone know of keyboard commands that will allow me to input these? Or is there a way to enter graphic files in values lists? Many thanks in advance, Andy
  7. Thank you Bob, This worked a treat - it made my cluncky work-around look like a wreck. Thanks again, Andy
  8. I'm creating a great circle distance calculator using latitude and longitude co-ordinates. Everything has gone well so far, but i need to be able to turn a calculation result to either a positive or negative figure based on the results of another field (either N or S). Can anyone tell me the best way to do this in a calculation field? I have tried to do this with logical statements but it's not my strong point. Many thanks in advance from a novice!
