Hello, I had to add an extra thing that pretty much "damaged" the portal for some reason. Basically I added a radio button that depending on the outcome (yes,no) will assign points to the person. I don't know why the portal is not sorting the records in descending order. I compared everything with the file you previously sent me but still it does not work. Thank you but perhaps I did not explain correctly. Please take a look at the attached file. the reports layout shows the sorted records with the total score for each person. But the names are repeated. Could you please help me on this issue? Thank you Pablo Points.zip

How can you show the records in a portal without repeating them. If I assigned points to different persons every week, then how can I list them without repeating names?

Hello, I am trying to build a simple application that assigns points to people according to certain activities and at the end it adds the points for each one of them and ranks them from highest to lowest. So far I have not been to do that last part. I have tried many things, playing with portals, scripts with no luck. The problem is in the Reports Layout, I deleted all my trials/tests, to have a cleaner view. Any help would be very appreciated Pablo Points.zip

Hello, I have several proprietary PDF files/forms that I would like to insert in a layout and populate the PDF fields with information that I have in different tables in Filemaker. What would be the best way to do that: a)Create a layout with the fields's position/size identical to the proprietary pdf form, fill the fields using a simple script and manually feeding the printed with pre-printed proprietary form. (VERY cumbersome) : Insert/Paste the pdf form in a layout and populate its fields with a script? Is it possible? c) Is there another way? or am I overthinking this? Thank you Pablo

I have a simple layout that calculates for example Total price by multiplying unit price*quantity. There is a related database that uses the unit price to calculate some other things. My question is that for example in countries with high inflation where prices change almost every month, every time I change a price it recalculates the older prices with the latest one!!. How could I have the oldest prices untouched and recalculate only according to the latest price. Thank you Pablomac

What amazes me is that if I transfer the files from the Pocket PC to one mac in OS 9 and then to another mac in OS X (via ethernet) Filemaker has no problem and identifies the .txt files But if I transfer the file from the Pocket PC to the mac in OS X directly then Filemaker does not see them??: Could someone explain me this or a way to overcome this obstacle from OS X? Hello, I am having the same problem trying to import .txt or .csv files to an solution created with developer 5.5 and running on OS X. There is no problem if the solution is running on OS 9 but in OS X, the solution does not recognize the file therefore it can not be opened. The file is created in SprintDB Pro for PocketPC and then exported to the desktop computer to be opened in FileMaker. I talked to the developers of Sprint DB Pro and they said that txt or csv files created with it are the same as created with excel. Could somebody tell me why the solution in OS X does not "see" these .txt or .csv files? Thanks a lot Pablomac

Hello everybody: I developed an application for Pocket PC using SprintDB Pro that has 16 tables. I would like to be able to read the info in these tables using FileMaker. I feel kind of embarrassed because I followed all the instructions but it still does not work. Hello: I included all the new fields and relationships and ... ... It does not work or better said partially works. When the number of records that "belong" to a name (Mat, John, Pablo, Patrick) are 6 or less, the result in the total yes field is accurate. But when the number of records that "belong" to a name is more than 6 (for example Mat) it adds up all of them. The result for mat is 155 instead of 120. Well, I don't know what happened but still does not work. It does exactly the same thing. When I have less than 6 records, it continues copying the last one. I have three different codes to perform what I want.
