Kind of a long story, I hope someone can help...
I just set up our FMP Server 5.0 on a Mac OS X 10.2.4 box, running in Classic. I run the network over TCP/IP. I tested it on the new box, but at a different DHCP enabled IP address, rather than the final live IP address.
When I migrated to the server, and a different IP address, TCP/IP failed. After investigating, it looks like the Networking prefernces kept the old IP address, and it wasn't editable.
Tinkered a lot....In a nutshell, Now the server will work the first time you start the server.....but if you stop Server and try to start it again, it bombs out stating TCP/IP can't be loaded, and the IP address under preferences is set to 0.0.0.0. If I reboot the machine, I can get in again....but I have to reboot every time I start up.
The IP address in Preferences isn't editable, due to running in Classic I presume.
Anybody ever see anything like this? Any ideas? Upgrading to 5.5 isn't an option, at least until they come out with a fix to keep it from corrupting all the files.
TIA
Chris
