How do I easily count items in a value list? I have been using an IF statement field like: if "item" 1,0. Then I use a summary field to sum the counted items. This makes 2 fields per counted item, which really uses up space. There must be an easier way to do this.

I have had some unexpected quits in various applications. One of the things I read has really helped me in this area. It involves tossing some preference files of the offending application. To try this, go to your users folders > you > library > Preferences > find the prefs associated with your application. Drag them to the desktop or trash them. I notice that the Filemaker folder does not name its preferences .plist, like most do. Ray
