  1. I receive a txt file with date information formatted as: 20040726 (no delimiters) Is there a magic (read: straightforward calculation) way in FMP7 to convert this to a date formatted as 7/26/2004? Just thought I'd ask before I go "old school" and create too many extra fields to extract, sort and re-combine the info. I've been off FMP for a while and on Excel far too long.
  2. One way would be to create a standard reference field (or universal reference, or universal key - depending on your training)in each database and use a defined relationship to the primary trigger db (with the same SRF. This would auto open all files. One question: are the databases dynamically changing because of your development? or are there other developers adding files? Sounds like there needs to be a project plan.
  3. My company uses custom Acrobat PDF forms to distribute project updates. I would like to tie these forms into my departmental FMP project database to maintain accurate updates and billings. The PDF's do not originate from FMP. Importing/maintaining constantly updated info is the main issue. Seems like a unique ID is needed - does Acrobat generate a unique form id? I would greatly appreciate any direction on how to bridge this gap. Hate to sound like a newbie - but I am - at least with Acrobat.
