  1. So, I have been using FileMaker since the day it came out in the 1980s and was produced by Deneba. we are a small law firm and are currently using FileMaker Pro 11 on about eight or nine clients in the office and FileMaker Pro server 11 in the office. Not one crash in about seven or eight years. However now because of our VPN issues it looked like we were going to have to upgrade all of our FileMaker system but then I decided to try the IW P, putting the database on the Internet. However after a lot of checking and googling it appears that while FileMaker Pro 11, FileMaker Pro 11 advanced, FileMaker Pro server 11 advanced cane each published to the website that FileMaker Pro server 11 cannot. So the question is where can I purchase a copy of FileMaker Pro server 11 advanced? Anyone have any suggestions? I don't want to upgrade the entire office to the next levels because everything is simply working beautifully. Thanks for any information you can provide. rayseligman@gmail.com
  2. Going from FMS 5 to FMS 11. I want to back up all the databases on Monday to a folder called "Monday", on Tuesday to a folder called "Tuesday", Wednesday to a folder called "Wednesday" etc. On FMS 5 I just navigated and selected the destination folder. When I put 7 folders ("Monday", "Tuesday", etc) in the "Backups" folder already designated by FMS and validate the path it tells me that it is an invalid path. How can I direct the target folder for a backup other than just the one called "Backup" set by FMS? Greatly appreciate a point in the right direction.
  3. This is spooky. We have the EXACT same problem. We are using FMP server 5.5 running on an OS 9 machine and have 10 machines, all on OS 9 logged in and they never, never, ever, like in years, lost communication. We have one OSX machine that loses communication after approx. 5-6 minutes of inactivity, even if it is running OS9 under classic. I am going to try to change the server to OS X and run the FMP Server 5.5 under OS X and see if that makes any difference. Any suggestions?
