Solved. Create a log on with read only access. Use that.

My problem has been at the "tier 2" level of FM technical support for 3 weeks (since 11/29/2004) to no avail. I am trying to convert my current (fm 6 unlimited with web connector) database/web interface to the new (fm server 7 advanced). I initially used the CDML Converter which seemed to work well---no error messages, but cannot get pages to work. (I don't think what I am doing is anything fancy...just a query which pulls up matching records on a results pages---at least it would pull up results in old version.) Since I am not familiar with xslt I am depending on the FM Site Assistant to create some properly coded pages for me. But if I use "localhost" it simply refuses to connect. If I use IP it wants authentication. Then if I use the username "admin" and password that gets me past one level but then I choose my database and it again prompts me for authentication. At this point nothing I try for authentication works. I have started/restarted server and services in many varying combinations. Nothing works. I am absolutely stalled on this project until I can find a solution. Does anyone have ideas? I really appreciate any and all ideas!! Linda

At first I received only the FileMaker 7 Pro, and Filemaker Server 7 Advanced. They finally sent me the cd for Filemaker Server 7.

I really need some help. Background: using FM 7 Server, FM 7 Server Advanced, Windows 2003 Server, IIS 6. BTW, I have this (see below) working with previous version---FM 6 Pro Unlimited and Web Connector using CDML but am forced to upgrade to FM7 Server Advanced because Web Connector is not compatible with IIS 6 on my new server, thus the upgrade to FM 7 etc. Bummer. I know nothing about xml/xslt except for what I am trying to glean from FM documentation. Another note, I cannot get FM Site Assistant to work.
