  1. Our office is using oditech.com to host our FM Db file. All workstations in our office are Mac OS X 10.6. Recently, one of our workstations is unable to access the file hosted on ODI through the 'Open Remote' command. Every other workstation can log in as usual, no problems. Checking the workstation console log, no changes have been effected that would cause this problem. Any idea what's up? Thanks in advance for the help. R
  2. Thanks very much for getting me pointed in the right direction. Your suggestion works like a dream !
  3. That's certainly a better way to go about it than my solution. Thanks very much for the help.
  4. Item: I have a tab delimited list with a single parameter. I need to assemble a FileMaker found set from this data. Currently, I'm converting the file and running a looping script, etc. etc. My solution is too convoluted and clunky. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  5. Headache...Any help would be very much appreciated. I am trying to look-up information based on a "Complex Relationship" that specifies a date range. Table A — Has event records with a declared date. Table B — Has contract records with reference numbers and rates. Each contract record has an "effective date" and a "termination date". My relationship is defined: Table B: Customer ID = Table A: Customer ID And Table B: effective date ≤ declared date And Table B: termination date ≥ declared date Problem: the "Look-Up" fields I've defined in Table A do not bring in valid data in Table B. What's broken? Also... Any other way I can manage this general task ? Thanks in advance

    Matching Arrays

Perfect ! That's exactly what I was looking for. Many thanks.
  7. I need an efficient way to run calculations on multiple records in one table against corresponding multiple records in a second table. Let's see if I can explain. Table one has dated contracts for pieces of equipment. One piece of equipment can have multiple contracts: Equipment SN / Date Start / Rate / Date End. A second Table has the same equipment, a record date, and miles run. This table (2) can have multiple records for each single piece of equipment: Equipment SN / Date Run / Miles Run. What is the easiest way to evaluate table (2) Miles Run against information in table (1) whether equipment was on contract or not?
  8. Hmmm... Thanks very much. I'll give it a whirl. We're going to feed the city pairs from the Data generated in PC Miler. From here, I think your suggestion will do the trick. Thanks again. R
  9. Indeed. The specific instances enumerated by the FM Function "Combination".
  10. Question for those who paid more attention in math class than I did. I have a list of cities (80), and need to determine mileages between each possible pair. My "Combination" function gives me the number I'll be dealing with, but no list of the combination coefficients. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Randy
  11. Thanks so much for the help. I'll give it a try. Sorry I'm not more clear. We're doing jobs that occur in stages with different assets. We'd like to complete stage one of a job, then reassign people and proceed on to a second phase, etc. Thanks again.
  12. Thanks for the offer. I currently generate a record with an auto-entered serial number (xxxx). I need to duplicate that record and attach a serial number that is a sub-set of the original serial number (xxxx-1). I'd like to repeat this process: xxxx-2, xxxx-3, xxxx-4, etc. Hope that helps.
  13. Filemaker novice with a serious problem. I have auto-enter five digit serial numbers. I need to create a script that appends dash 1, dash 2, and so on... Ex: 89632, 89632-1, 89632-2... I'm completely stumped. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.
